Patricia MacDowell is an independent filmmaker in Montreal, Quebec.
She received a development grant from SODEC (Société de développement des entreprises culturelles) to write ‘Sweeping Forward’, an inspirational story, which brings awareness to mental health.
‘Sweeping Forward’ has placed in various festivals; won 1st place and Honourable Mention.
‘Sweeping Forward’ is a low budget, independent production project with cultural value, strength and diversity.
Sweeping is Patricia’s first feature film – a story that revolves around Bess Lavigne, a gifted curler scarred by childhood abuse who ultimately finds redemption while coaching four down-and-out women struggling with various mental-health issues.
Sweeping Forward is in production from film April 15 – late May 2013 on the West Island.
